Standard ASP.NET Components

When aming at achieving the development of new websites or the modification of existing sites as quickly as possible and at the lowest possible costs, Milestre attempts to use ASP.NET components already available on the market as much as it can.

The Telerik R.A.D. Controls suite Edition is an excellent example of this. This collection of ASP.NET components sees to a tight bond with Microsoft Content Management Server and provides the necessary basic performance which is necessary for the presentation and control of websites based on MCMS. With basic performance you may think of 'What You See Is What You Get' (WYSIWYG) control, navigation, graph (=statistieken)/ graphics (=schrijf + tekenkunst) reproduction, data control and presentation of tables and so on.

However, most of the time next to this basic performance it is desirable to also have specific performance e.g. news, a newsletter, more details, list of co-workers, searching etc. That is why Milestre has developed modules with which this specific performance can quickly be realized in a website. Among these modules you will find:

Module	Functionaliteit
Activity calender	Presenting and controlling information on activities taking place.
Authentication and Authorisation (SSL)	Authentication and authorization are imperative for online website control. This module sees to it that the user’s name as well as his/her password can be transported across internet in a secure way.
Employees	All defined co-workers are presented in a list. This list can be put in name or can be searched via an A-Z set of buttons.. Each co-worker’s details can be called up individually.
Narrow Casting	With 'Narrow Casting' is meant: supplying the correct information at a selected location and time. This module provides: recording the contents that need to be shown; the time at which the content presentation should start; the duration of the content presentation; the location of the presentation;
News	New items of news are presented in a news list. Apart from the presentation in this list it is possible to record the following per news item: • the duration of the presentation of the news item. After the expiry date has elapsed the news item is automatically placed in the archives. • its presentation on the homepage At the same time this module supports RSS. This creates the possibility to offer the contents of the news list to an RSS Reader.
Newsletter	The newsletter is set up with news pages indicated by the user. A small part of the text of every page indicated is shown in the newsletter.
PrintPreview	The contents of a page are presented in such a way that these can be printed without any hassle.
Sitemap	Presenting all the pages occurring in the MCMS website in the XML format suitable for Google Site maps.
Language support	Via the selection of a language the user determines the language preference in which the website is to be presented.
Weblog	The weblog items are listed chronologically as is done in the news items list. Supported by the RSS function it is possible to offer the weblog contents to an RSS Reader.
Search	This module provides a 'FullText' search in the website.
